This summer I lived with a family in the east of Ukraine, displaced from war. They had jobs, running water, and money. Now they have none of these things.
Their apartment was bombed out, and they had to move. They are starting over….
I was fortunate to have documented their lives for 6 weeks (with the help of my amazing team) and make a YouTube series out of it.
During that time I became very close to the family, and they took me in like one of their own. Never once did they complain about their situation. They started each and every day with optimism and each other. Materially very poor, but very rich people….
Getting the family an indoor bathroom and kitchen is the least I can do for them. So I thought I’d give it a try here.
I’ve never done this before, so I have no idea how many people will donate. It might be just me and my Mom, or it might be many people. If we end up getting more money than expected, I’d also like to buy the family a computer (their computer gives them electric shocks when touched) and if there is money left over, I’d like to set up a college fund for the kids.
Please donate whatever you feel is right for you. And if you don’t donate, that is fine, just watch the series and learn from these amazing people 🙂
What is very cool about this project is that you’ll see your donations at work! I will get back to you with a video of installing the kitchen and bathroom with genuine gratitude and smiles from the family and me (I am going back to Ukraine).
Collectively WE have the power to make great positive impact for the Burkut family! Together we can accomplish great things 🙂
Thank you for your interest in this very grateful family.
Best,
Peter
