The Hamptons are mostly known as a wealthy vacationland for NYC, but that’s only part of the story. Today, we get a unique glimpse of what the Hamptons are like through the perspective of an old-school local who shows us a side of this special place that most of us have never seen.

not your typical Hampton’s video
starting at the dump million bucks
million bucks million bucks the world’s
most expensive trailer park yeah hey
which one went for 3 million oh did you
see me in this suit there’s rich and
there’s wealth now you’re talking wealth
it’s like two people live in the house
for a month out of the year but they
drive a Tesla so they care this called
downtown what was all of this boy look
at these yachs I love it it was nice
hold it there lady hold it hold it so
celebity come out of here to be
recognized he came to the wrong place no
one really gives you this is nice wow
great place to goow yeah there’s nobody
here Hey Kevin how the hell are you
what’s going on 3.5 mil well it’s a deal
they call them Bubbies like Hillbillies
they call okay you would never know it’s
just right off the road the only
difference is that the locals live here
all year round you who’s luckier us or
them we are
Jimmy you’re doing ding repair yes I’ve
been doing it a long time you’re fishing
too yeah lobsterman sea bass trapping
Gil netting all sort every type of
fishing all right so today we’re going
to cruise the island Cruise all around
the who’s everywhere all right now we’re
going to the dumps to the dumps the dump
is really cool I love the dump if you
ever need anything you just come here
for instance if the quar on the lawn
mower breaks they throw it to the dumps
you know it’s a nice one and you bring
it home you put a new qu in it works
great God knows what there could be in
here like oh look at the grills all the
grills gr look at all the
grills Jesus Christ not your typical
Hampton’s video starting at the
dump oh look at that that’s almost like
a new looking Grill there yeah it’s a
nice Grill who knows there’s your lawn
mower right there a right there what’s
the matter with this thing look who
knows interesting so here’s something
you never see Lady remember the old St
lawnmower oh yeah those are great it’s
cool huh I’m not taking it I taken too
much crap in my life I got I’m trying to
less than my load of
junk what are you putting in the dump
some oldish old
fish trano trano
all right that’s it so with the Hamptons
we’re going to learn today what they’re
all about cuz this is my first time here
most people just think millionaires
multi-millionaires billionaires it’s
true but there’s a big local population
like you right you probably heard this
term monto’s a little drinking town with
a fishing problem it’s always been a
fishing Community Real Estate was
relatively inexpensive back then but
nobody you say back then when was that
in the ‘ 50s and call Fisher had VIs of
Grande of making this place into another
Miami Beach Monto Monto he started
developing the property and it didn’t
stick and I think he died broke but uh
my grandparents fell in love with this
place and they bought a couple homes in
like the early 50s for like I think I
might have told you for Seven Grand a
piece WOW 7 Grand a piece then they
would come out here every summer and
when I was old enough my parents shipped
me out here they would put me on the
train in Bayshore and obviously told the
conductors keep an eye on me and when
the train stopped and when it was the
end of the road it was the end of the
road loved it it was spectacular out
here back then see that over there see
the big building yeah what’s that that’s
they call it the white elephant that’s
what Carl fiser made he built that and
he had all of his investors go up to the
top and they would pick property out
from up there CU I want it from there to
there and here to here and this and that
so when did you move here fulltime how
old were you 22 23 the tribe of surfers
back in the day we came out for one
reason and that was to Surf but we had
to find a way to live I became a
fisherman that’s was my job that’s what
I wanted to do a lot of friends became
Carpenters very successful carpenters
and very successful fishermen and right
next to this dirt lot which I’m going to
show you used to be we call it the
trailer park and back in the day when it
was first open it was all just tents and
back in the day you could buy a trailer
like see that little one right there yep
that’s an original trailer that went for
like 15 177,000 bucks back in the late
70s now they built them up and they
refurbished them and did all this and a
trailer on the water on the first row
sold for you ready yeah three million
it’s insane yeah we can actually walk in
there
so fair to say the world’s most
expensive trailer park yeah with that I
guess crazy though huh that’s wild I
know so what happened I mean it’s pretty
cool we can walk down look at the ocean
I don’t know which one it was so what
happened was it was like no it couldn’t
be 3 billion so it was a ripple effect
it’s right after Co or right around Co
they’re paying that much money we can
charge F $5 for a cup of coffee or
whatever you know every thing went up
everyone started a gouch gouch gou is it
because people came out from the city
during Co they moved they moved out here
right
okay this is a premier surf
spot do you live out here um I live in a
I have a trailer you have a trailer went
for 3 million sorry which one of these
trailers sold for 3 million I think
there’s one of these on the front
yeah that one which one well I read mine
just for August but I think it was that
one like the one next to the yellow one
3 million bu no I think it was actually
the one that the woman’s on really yeah
oh that’s definitely worth 3 million
that
one so this was all tents it was all
tents surf bums back in the day dirt
okay surf bombs and everybody was in
free love once the celebrities are the
wealthier people came in they all had to
have them me Buffett type of people
Jimmy Buffett I think he had a trailer
here and it’s good you know what they
use them for where after they go surfing
they come out and they change out of
their wet suits and take a shower and
leave their surf boards here go back to
the regular home does that bum you out
at all as a local no I don’t care more
power to them so I guess it depends who
you talk to but there’s not a real big
divide between the that really wealthy
class and the old school locals or is
there it is negativity some people are
really like upset and piss off and this
and that and that who cares you know
these people worked hard they make their
money if I was in that position I’d
probably do the same thing why not the
only difference is that the locals live
here all year round where these people
they just come out here on the weekends
or something like that and it’s kind of
like you who’s luckier us to them we
are I used to own a house but I got
divorced and you know lost that my wife
sold it and I she got the lion chair and
I got what was left over which I was
happy and I took that money and bought
land in Costa Rica but I’ll never be
able to afford a home here never so you
ran a place right now yeah and the rents
are like cuckoo okay what’s an example
5,000 a month can’t even find a place to
live but also what’s happened a lot of
uh Latinos come out here hardworking
Latinos they can’t afford the rent so
they pile a bunch of Peep families will
live in at one house and they can afford
to pay and you know they work hard and
they send their money back to wherever
they came from and they work they work
hard so a lot of the homes not a lot but
some of the homes are you know multif
family homes which is against the law
but what are you going to do I couldn’t
even Venture a guess on how much these
houses are
uhoh you okay yes you can’t D you look
like a guy might have a knife oh my God
I never leave home without
it hey no offense but now he has no
soul you go all right you can throw in
the back of my truck you don’t have to
carry it just cut this you can throw in
the back of my truck have to carry it
I’m going to carry it I’m not going to L
this you can throw in the back of my
truck he said you can and I’ll get rid
of it look at your poor dog freezing
that to no you got your KN thank you
you’re
welcome you know Julian Schnabel no
famous artist producer director he lives
down there he’s a good friend of mine I
fix all his boards too real nice guy
real down the earth guy and the other
thing about M talk is that there are a
lot of celebrities out here but no one
cares the locals they don’t give a sh we
don’t care we don’t care okay so it’s
not like a super flashy drive your
Lamborghini out here type of place some
people do you know of course you know
but no it’s very low low key out here
you know that people want to blend in if
celebrities come out of here to be
recognized he came to the wrong place no
one really gives a you’re a nice person
you’re a nice person you’re not a nice
person you get treated like a person
that’s
aome and this is surf break Hoffman’s
Michael Hoffman whoever that is some
wealthy dude there’s all grapes in here
all grapes grapes yeah it’s really a
cool canopy I’m not driving up beautiful
I’m not driving up here because it’s
private property and I don’t want to
intrude but we used to go hunting all
back here Ducks going in this right in
there you would hunt out here as a kid
yeah
puddle jumping we call
it this is the first cattle ranch in
America this ranch right here mon look
it says right there oldest cattle ranch
in the USA it St of
1658 before America before America crazy
yeah that’s when this place cops cops oh
the traffic goes it’s still operating
just horses and stuff like that and
there’s all these building it’s really
cool America is freaking great it’s
awesome I fully realized after uh living
abroad traveling to 85 countries it’s
like Wow 85 countries seen a fair amount
and uh this time coming back it really
hit me you who commissioned that who
George Washington this is the end of
Long Island this is really really really
cool I do I look uh older than 60 no yes
I do don’t lie to me no I don’t because
I’m free senior citizen C make me sure
my
senior citizen I just got to see a
driver’s license please cuz I’m from New
York or just old it’s uh it’s like that
two bit actor once said trust but verify
how old do you think he is I stopped
guessing a long time ago no you a safe
answer I had somebody pull up and I
swear they’re in their 40s they’re like
no I’m 67 I was like you’re kidding you
guys have a lovely afternoon thanks you
too keep up the good work I’ll try
problem lot of takes out here uh yes
good
in World War III they used to have all
these gun turrets all around here big
cannons and see the old radar oh yeah
that’s the old radar
Tower I’m not getting too close a lot of
shipwrecks along this Coast the Pirates
would or the local people because the
lighthouse has been here for a long long
long time and they would put on that
Cliff over there
they would pretend it was a lighthouse
and have fires and they would think
that’s that was a lighthouse and it’s
called The False point so they would
come in and run a ground and they’d loot
them and I didn’t expect to see this at
all here in the Hamptons well this is
nature nature like this I had no clue
spectacular spectacular
yeah this is called downtown
what was all of this an Air Force Base
that’s a bowling alley I
think look at that one it’s getting
taken over by the
trees so this is just all old Cold War
stuff huh yeah waiting for the Soviets
no waiting for the Germans okay so
you’re thinking World War II yeah World
War II man the Germans you Boats were
like right out here yeah beautiful
Forest it wasn’t a forest back in the
day there was nothing here is the radar
Tower okay yeah there’s just a ton of
exploration out
here when I was younger we had the
little rabbit ears on the TVs and every
time that thing went around and it hit
our antennas goip so you’d be watching
TV and every I don’t know 10
seconds you get a little zap from the
radar Tower it was pretty
wild I bet a lot of people living out
here on the Hamptons don’t even know of
this H I don’t know about
this it’s an AR gy now but it used to be
the train station and go and get you
tickets in there in the train get on the
okay so this is how you would come in
yeah when you were a kid yeah your
grandparents would pick you up right
here they’ be waiting for me right there
that a great place to grow up yeah is a
Manor mon talk Manor yeah haunted they
say you believe in ghosts I believe in
you know Spirits I do to I think I see
them every now and then where I live see
these these things I don’t know what the
they are I don’t discount anything you
know like Frank Zappa said mind is like
a parachute it only works if it’s open
very
true as long as I’ve been coming out of
here since the 50s this doc has been
here so still pulling in a lot of fish
oh yeah look at all the
draggers Hey Kevin how the hell are you
what’s going on you still catching high
tide here yeah I see that that’s fishing
all right any squid it’s just just
starting to show up wa it’s [ __ ] late
ain’t it yeah it’s been off year that’s
for sure oh jeez always something y all
right good seeing you all right this
dock has been here for ever been rebuilt
a bunch of
times you know all these guys yeah
they’re working their asses off we have
a saying what would you do if you want a
million bucks you go I keep fishing
until all the money was
gone okay so this is a jetty this used
to be all fresh water then they blew
that up that was this spit of land a
long time ago late 20s I think maybe
even sooner and then this old became
salt water and became a harbor and then
you have the Yachts over here yeah these
all party boats and charter boats take
people out for high over there this guy
guy’s named Anthony and his friend
Johnny
they fish offshore lobsters 30 40 miles
off 50 miles off the beach and they take
watches going out one guy steers the
other guy sleep and they have see these
coolers uhhuh had the coolers all sacked
up and this and that and he was moving
one and the handle broke and he didn’t
have this transom here right and he went
over the stern went off the boat Bo kept
on going the GU the the captain was the
other Captain was
asleep he’s floating watching the boat
go away gone just gone and he was
treading water for I don’t know how long
see those po those poly balls those
balls yeah he found the lobster buoy out
there and he went out there and he
untied him or something and and he had
his boot took his boots off and put them
under his armpits the you know with the
air in them and he was able to float and
they they found them it was a
miracle it was finally a good story
finally somebody lived
now this is my old saer grounds when I
was a kid none of this was here but this
Motel when we were kids what we would do
they had like the vacancy and No Vacancy
yeah we No
Vacancy and I grew up in this house this
one yeah see these trees giant no trees
whole Beach great place to grow yeah
there’s nobody here we used to spend
every day on the beach over here you
can’t even see it and we used to walk
down the beach to codon point every day
with Beach pumps so what’s a place like
this here got be a million bucks there
ain’t nothing under a million
dollars and this is they call this
leisurama Mr whoever did the building
built on every one of these lots a
little home that was a affordable trying
to develop the area and they were called
Leisure ramas they were like 8,000 bucks
and just move in with your toothbrush at
the refrigerator pots and pants and
dishes cool right that’s a leisurama yes
that is cool eight grand they had the
mattress and everything beds
Linens everything there’s another one
see the little they the little that’s a
that’s a real
one so from 8 Grand to a million million
a million
dollars this is affordable housing what
town are we in amaganset okay so this is
your place yeah it’s affordable housing
in other words you you have to fit into
a certain criteria okay and the criteria
is I think it starts which is pretty low
income is
$32,000 but it goes up to
$110,000 income okay and I’m right in
the middle of it so this is super
important for you to live out here right
oh yeah if I didn’t if I didn’t have
this I don’t know where I’d live it’s
the only solution they just built
another one this a 36 units they just
built another one 50 units brand new
Whose building is that the state a
developer and he in um coordination with
the town and the state I’m sure they get
some sort of subsidies and yeah I don’t
know how they figure it out but
somebody’s making money that’s for for
sure he’s not doing out of his Goodwill
he’s working to make money whoever the
developers now now we’re coming into
some expensive homes now these are
really expensive homes not as expensive
we’re going to see I mean some of these
homes don’t even hold the candle to what
we’re going to see so there’s still a
lot of open land yeah well I don’t know
whose house that is that might be and I
don’t call me on this that could be Alex
baldman house he’s got 10 acres he
trying to sell that’s a nice place wow
20 was asking 26 I think he’s down to 20
or 19 mil see you used to be able to see
all the Mansions see thing all built up
you know I’m talking big money there’s
some nice homes around here I’ll tell
you yeah this is
beautiful busy hot summer day this is
packed huh packed packed look at that
place look at these places
geez I’m Kevin buns hi Kevin buns nice
to meet you get back to work where is
too cold for you guys today I’m just
chilling freezing out a can’t it’s
craziness way down the street what he’s
yeah he’s probably like where those
chimneys are back there I think that’s
his oh Seinfeld’s way down there yeah
okay and they come out on these walkways
huh yeah there’s a whole assortment of
them you’ve got like who knows who these
people are really you know but pretty
crazy huh that that guy uh founded the
barcode you know he did something like
that you grew up here too yeah played
Sports at Eed Hampton High School School
saw this place are you in college or I’m
a Dropout I left oh good man excellent
you make much more money smart moov
absolutely the hell with it as long as I
keep reading my books you know books be
okay books are good yeah so you you said
a lot of change from when you grew up
yeah and you’re pretty young yes so I
only imagine what you’ve seen oh good
you know it’s co co was the uh big uh
the big change everyone came out from
New York City you saw all those plots of
land that you never thought would be
built on in Springs Northwest you know
bought up for $500,000 now it’s a $3
million house years easily do you
remember going to the grocery store
during Co there was no meat no me
nothing old toilet paper no chicken
people were coming out here buying FR
from the city right they would go to PC
richers buy all these chest freezers
right and then they would go out they go
to the IG or whatever grocery store and
buy all the chicken everything the
population quadrupled you know it was
crazy you want to check out the
Lifeguard yeah let’s go I’m hanging out
yeah you want this yeah hold it throw it
on the whistle okay so that’s a true old
school that’s like an old school mon
talk Surfer guy you know yeah you know
the bubs they kind of got a bit of an
accent to them what are the bubs the
bubs were the like clammers the
fishermen you know I mean I don’t know
if he’s a fisherman he seems like one he
was yeah and he serves or he used to go
to Costa Rica in the winters yeah a lot
of guys in mon do that okay so this is
the Lifeguard zone out here this is the
yeah this is the day today
not much going on no one on the beach
that’s Glenn that’s Harry so Kev you
grew up here do you want to take off or
do you want to
stay I want to stay you know it’s one
you look at this it’s beautiful you so
Winter’s pretty tough here it’s cold
it’s that New England humid cold air
coming on to you but uh the money is
here to be made and if you just show up
you go to work you smile things are
going to happen you know it’s okay
what’s happening for you well one this
is the best job ever private
lifeguarding swim lessons surf lessons
you know and you get in with that you’re
making a lot of money and that’s just
your summer Gig if you pick up another
job you’re making even more money and
then uh the winter you pick up a trade
you can do really whatever you want
you’ve just got to you’ve just got to be
creative and you got to create things so
it’s definitely possible to stay out
here yeah this is the man so these guy
these guys are doing well what surf
lessons yeah oh yeah how the surf
lessons going good absolutely crushing
it okay how old are you guys younger 20s
uh 22 21 yeah sweet so live living your
life just enjoying it totally it’s a
great place to grow up okay so this is
going to sound silly to you guys but a
lot of people live online and they see
the world through what they see through
their computer or phone so they think a
lot of young men just you know more
depressed don’t like to get out in the
beautiful nature on computers all the
time and you guys are sort of disproving
that myth to if you’re on your phone all
the time sucking down your algorithm how
are you not them be depressed it’s like
you’re either looking at everyone else
live their life you’re looking at tons
of things better than whatever you’re
doing when you put the phone down and
look around you’re like there’s so much
to do there’s just so much to do also
like if that’s your reality you know
you’re not actually doing anything
you’re just watching other people do
you’re not actually getting any
fulfillment out of life you know what I
mean like it’s really important to do
stuff yourself cuz it just like
finishing goals even if it’s just like
going with your buddies making shirts
you know doing your yeah you just feel
better yeah do you guys have a good
group of friends out here an excellent
one Orion’s hiding somewhere they’re
like the the sickest crew in reality
yeah honestly amazing it’s it’s crazy
and like all of our dads like grew up
and knew each other back in the day so
it’s like we’re like second gen you know
do you have Surfer dads yeah Surfer
Sports just hardworking you know badass
dudes so you’re continuing the Legacy
yeah and that it’s funny he was like the
arch nemesis when I when I was growing
up we grew up wrestling each other yeah
and our parents wrestled and it was kid
wrestling who’s winning he’s winning now
yeah but back in the day he’d hold me
down punch more Jack okay I’m just cold
that’s it I look all pumped up I’m not
really that big you know this is Frankie
and Bruce up in Mon and uh my grandpar
actually opened up the first surf shop
in mon talk in the 70s early ’70s oh
sweet yeah what’s big house big house is
a little uh we’re in the Hamptons you
look at all these houses it’s full of
big houses and there was this spot in
that peig it was a surf spot it was this
small house you know it was like the big
house for the time now every house is
way bigger than it so it’s a little play
on words you know so okay what’s the
back here they’ say go to the big house
it’s a horseshoe crab lots of people see
them lots of people know what they are
but we’ve never seen him on a shirt
people like it
you some of them this is one of our
bosses here this is Bruce so you’re
managing this mly crew the the the the
surf team I’m the surf team manager cool
so big house is a Lifestyle brand y it’s
about being in the water and it’s about
living the life and you know basically
the fre the freedom of that lifestyle
are you are you guys selling this
absolutely yeah okay oh yeah I like it
so link Down Below guys in the
description we’ll get some big house Big
House New York you can’t beat it it’s
clean I have Jimmy over here do you know
Jimmy from mon you know Jimmy Jim G so
Jimmy and I are making a video together
sweet we want to preserve this lifestyle
keep it pure and keep it clean there a
problem here in the Hamptons with that
much well Georgia kond is completely
trashed yeah like all these ver people
who live around it they pump their grass
and stuff of fertilizers and like
pesticides to kill the tick and
everything to make their lawns look
really nice but then all that seeps into
the pond and then they open up the cut
and it goes out into the ocean where we
all serve and you can’t swim you can’t
you it’s like top how many how many
houses are doing this tons it’s every
house around the pond it’s the new
Hampton’s yard now what is it is it’s a
big nice green lawn with Evergreens
there is no diversity and what you look
around you look at all of these uh
there’s wild flowers up the sides of
these paths it is so biodiverse here and
since Co especially all those corners of
land where he lives you know where I
live you never thought and they clear
cut the whole thing all these old Cedars
all these like beautiful Birches and
stuff right The Wildflower Meadows
clearcut them so is there a big divide
between those that AR aren’t out here
fulltime and those that are here full
time or what what’s your take on that
it’s hard to I feel like a lot of them
are on our side they came out here cuz
they liked it and now even they’re
seeing it CH how beautiful it is I mean
if you look at the beaches here down the
beaches there’s no big hotels it’s not
Atlantic City you know what I mean it’s
like There Are Rules keeping it this way
there’s no fast food chains it’s it’s
really they respect the locals they do
it’s just they don’t know and it’s like
they need to be educated it really is
just awareness and it is awareness and
there’s you know um there are a few
hardcore real local jabronies Who
harvest the pine needle like for their
testosterone and know that you could eat
the rose hips at a certain time of year
around the beach and like actually are
true like Long Island Natives and they
they actually have a relationship with
the environment here and that most the
locals don’t even have that relationship
but it it it starts with those who care
and then it spreads from there you don’t
need a golf course course in your front
yard or your backyard plant some native
species do do Native wildlife and and
use use pesticides that aren’t toxic
buildin kind East Hampton is a great
Instagram to check out she learned all
of the zoning code to start calling out
the mass overdevelopment out here I’m
talking you’re putting like 6 7,000 ft
houses on a quarter acre and clearcut
the whole thing you know and then it’s
like two people live in the house you
know but they drive a Tesla for for for
a month out of the year but they drive a
Tesla so they care yeah average of a $20
million house on the beach is 3 weeks
out of the Year okay heated and cooled
all year and then there’s kids like us
who grew up here our whole life and not
going to be able to buy a property of
our own unless we really do something
big I that’s the whole thing behind the
merch line we really we really want to
be able to like protect the place we
grew up in and live here and help each
other you know and we take these kids
serving Charlie is this your first time
surfing today second second time again
out here again because he loves it and
we’re we’re healing the younger
generation because all these kids are on
screens and it we’re we’re structuring
their unstructured time after school
weekends Summers getting them in the
water building a love for the ocean you
know so then they they become it’s this
healthy lifestyle that’s what we’re
promoting they’re not anxious anymore
we’re getting these kids and then once
they have a love for the ocean then they
develop that desire to to protect it and
they desire develop the responsibility
and that’s the next level yeah and then
it’s like the Next Generation knows and
they teach the next it’s like it’s like
pass these kids are in junior lifeguard
programs they look up to these guys yeah
the torch is being passed as we speak
yeah we’ve had it since uh what 21 now
at 2 Mile this has been our spot there’s
a lot of responsibility in that yeah
we’re an outpost it’s like we have a
sick Comm like and we have a sick group
of people that come down here honestly
just to hang out with us you know what I
mean it’s like Apocalypse Now when you
go up the river and you’re at the last
outpost we’re at the there’s there’s no
beaches we’re in control of two miles
that way and two miles that way there’s
nothing so if anything goes wrong over
at the Maidstone club and those guards
need help we have the quad we’re the
people they call we follow our dreams
dreams is to be immersed in the ocean in
the best ways possible and that’s the
initiative for for the nonprofit too I
know a ding repair guy yeah we had the
best part of it all right guys all right
later you
too really cool guys as you could
see good tribe is it great to see the
next gen like this oh yeah it’s the best
good kids H good kids see that’s those
are real Surfers those guys are stoked
stoked stoked doing good
things okay now we’re going to see some
more
[ __ ] more homes
cool good stuff Jimmy thanks for being
patient there all right what else am I
going to do give you a little break
paperwork little break from me I did
some
paperwork so this East Hampton area
eastampton gets wealthier even wealth
wow there’s rich and there’s wealth now
you’re talking wealth yeah they have all
their events and you know they want to
be seen and it’s they lifestyle I guess
me I don’t want to be seen you like it
simple Jimmy I love it basic but you
could remove yourself away from I mean
if I had like tons and tons of money
would I live here nope there’s no way
I’d live I’d live in M as secluded as
possible it’s like uh what’s it called
Rodeo Drive yeah yeah it is Jimmy you do
a lot of shopping here on the weekends
oh every day you know what the rent
around here for one of these places is
no me neither but it’s a really a lot
like 20 grand 40 Grand a month you got
to sell a lot of socks to do
that oh boy look at the parking
here is this one right here oh good eyes
there you go boom hit the
curb good job
Jim Perfect all right nice now what do I
do I’m not used to this either look at
my car I’m not used to any of this
so this is like going to the big city
for you this
is so living out here look look at me
yeah and then hold it there lady hold it
hold it I noticed for me it’s really
cool
because the people I don’t know how they
look to you but they all look different
to me like look I never see people like
this what’s that like they the city
people the haircuts and what they wear
different it’s pretty cool I never see
that living in M being a fisherman and
Surfer you just see their type there
used to be a toy store I used to go in
Christmas shopping all righted so 40
years ago what was this street like it’s
always been this nice it’s always been
okay it’s just different stores and
different things in them let’s check out
some real I don’t remember the clothing
what do we have 2600 sare ft 3.5 mil
it’s a deal 1 five BMS 13
mil this one 9 mil 8,000 sare ft then
you have a small one here 1,800 Square
ft 3 million 3.2 yeah where is it
there’s the
location
you look at that 15.7 that’s a so this
is what we can’t see driving down the
road why because they’re behind the
hedges right yeah this a beautiful layer
isn’t it’s amazing or what it is I mean
look at how clean the streets are look
at it people are
nice I was just in
Kensington neighborhood in Philadelphia
you were yeah so from going from
Kensington to
this yeah exactly yeah it’s pretty bad
and I was also in the M Valley it’s the
former you know steel country of the
country south of
Pittsburgh right in Russ Bel territory
going from some of those places to this
they do it’s like a to totally different
country a little different you know it’s
like I feel so bad for those [ __ ] people
how the hell you know I mean I’ve been
watching a couple I watch it sometimes a
couple videos it’s just heartbreaking
yeah what is
this this is where you get your
underwear
monogram but what is this what is this
cup sold in store today Trump 79 Harris
277
they’re doing The Cup count obviously
how many cups they bought that’s
interesting oh did you see me in this
suit which one ah no I think it’s too
tied up the pants are too tight
yeah they are very feminine they are
with the tight pants and the no socks
and you wear socks good and the no sock
they’re two gay dudes not that it’s bad
I love gays let’s put it right now I
love gay people and the more flamboyant
they are the more I like them great
hardware
store nice people I love it everyone’s
nice how could anybody you know like I
you know friends are are hardworking
guys and some guys that are there so
many
people they don’t like any of these
people I don’t know why maybe they’re
jealous are just close-minded I don’t
get it I enjoy it all I love looking at
these people it’s the coolest freaking
thing in the world like I told you I was
in the grocery store Went Done packed
and you know I’m dressed the way I’m
dressed the lady went to me you must not
like it here with so many people I said
I are you kidding me I love it in winter
time it’s nothing but a bunch of dirt
bag fishermen here look at it it’s all
beautiful women and nice people you know
but they’re not to
like see these a quaint little beautiful
old homes cute right cute these are very
old very old homes my friend used to
live back there this is the Bubby Ville
or boner area okay explain boner what is
that exactly they’re fishermen Bayman
they’re Bubbies they call them Bubbies
and like Hillbillies they call them okay
you would never know it’s just right off
the road right off the road that is
interesting look these are old
Bayman lessers they’re they’ve been down
here for 100 freaking years go they and
buy fish and stuff like that those are
the old Holan boats right there or
actually they still use them a bab for
scalop and they got their chickens and
everything there the Bubbies
there maybe I know
them they call us Poseyville don’t ask
me why they named it that but you know
see you got his old clam R up there clam
R Tong rig they call that so all the bay
all the the monikas who were the s the
people that came here first the Bennett
Cel lesters the
balls they came here and they settled
here and the only way to make money was
fishing It farming chickens and this and
that and they’ve been here for hundreds
and hundreds of years MH and they’ve got
squeezed
out you know a lot of their fishing
rights have been taken away it’s sad
very sad what do you mean by their
fishing rights have been taken away well
like I showed you this boat here this uh
right there see that boat right there
that’s a hall sa boat they launched them
from the beach into the ocean and Big
Surf they used to set out these nets
called HS they were twine Nets they they
busted through the surf they go all the
way out they come around they’re sitting
in N come back and scoop back on the
beach and they winch the boats up they
used to use horses and wagons but now
they have pickup trucks with captions on
them and the government said no no more
holing you can’t Holan anymore so their
way of life got removed from that was
the end of that they’ve been doing it
for hundreds and hundreds and hundreds
of years you’ve seen in the Caribbean
islands and all these islands you know
they do it the same thing and they pull
the Nets in by
hand and whatever fish they got they got
so what they would do it on the on here
they do the same thing and there’d be
some fish that would die on the beach or
some skates or some small strip bass and
and this and that and that and this and
and people complain oh my God you’re
killing the fish they were like
completely freaked out and they stopped
them from Kill they made the law no Hall
sing for strip pass so they just cut out
a big portion of their income they try
to give them Town jobs and these guys
for the most part aren’t the most
educated people around very sad they
something in a way of life right you can
apply to anyone’s industry right yeah
you sure can and I uh in Appalachia and
coal country a lot of those jobs have
been affected and so those people are
what do they do a lot of drugs people
either they’re still cold jobs they’re
either working hard or doing drugs it
seems to be like half and half it’s
weird some are doing okay some are in
doing really bad it’s like town to town
almost see all those buoys on that house
up there yeah I think that’s Billy Joe’s
house got some nice booies huh that’s
his boat right there down east Alexa
right there nice bow there’s a lot of
famous people who live out here just
Justin Timberlake got busted here
driving drunk oh yeah yeah this is
downtown say Hara how do you you say
Hara Hab Har Harbor this is nice wow
it’s pretty cool it’s got a I mean it’s
equally as nice it’s got a totally
different feel though yeah it’s pretty
cool I like it better it’s a little more
cozy just everything is taken care of
there’s not one shabby looking anything
not around here they wouldn’t stand they
couldn’t stand for it here’s some old
homes on the right oh yeah those are
beauties it’s an old whaling Community
here this is where they wail they used
to go send the whaling ships out from
here and they used to go away for x
amount of years and years years I was on
St Lawrence Island Alaska a couple
summers ago they still whale really do
they yeah the natives are look at that
this is the type of house a successful
Whaler would build okay and live in like
you see that light there yeah that would
would like be whale oil to do that and
they used to have closer to the ocean
Widow Peaks up top where the wives figes
a a year and a half Voyage they start
going up looking for the ships to come
in waiting for them to come back and
they call them Widow Peaks and a lot of
guys never made it
home boy look at these
yachs right wow could I wild huh could I
live on one of
these
sure be nice at in my
apartment God damn and they just get
bigger and bigger you ring the little
bell and you know and they bring the
olds
up Jimmy yes sir good times today all
right pet thank you my pleasure kid
thanks for bring in me and the audience
into a world that most of us have no
understanding of oh good because like
everything you know you can put an easy
label on it and then once you start
digging just from what we saw today MH
different worlds different identities
different feels and you’re the great
Storyteller oh thank you that’s very
nice of you nice to meet you come back
another time when uh you can spend more
time here I show you some really neat
stuff all right some fishing take you on
the fishing boat I’m glad I could help
